Welcome to the web site of the Mull Astronomical Society. The site was launched in October 2002, almost a year after the Society's formation.

We are an approachable, friendly lot! We hold our meetings on the first Tuesday of the month, usually in the Golf Clubhouse  in Tobermory, Isle of Mull.

Mull is a great place to observe the skies. Although the weather can be fickle, when the sky is clear and the weather good, there are tremendous opportunities to go out and gaze; there is very little light pollution here.

If you are ever visiting the island and are interested in astronomy, do please give one of us a call - check out the contact page for more details. There is also a Mailing List if you would like to add your name to it. If you are a visitor to Mull, please have a look at the Holiday Mull web site - there is lots of information on accommodation, things to do and places to see.

One of the aims of this site is to build up an interactive community of Club members - every household in Mull was given a free computer and internet access by courtesy of the Scottish Executive, so nearly everyone has access to the web.

We also intend to build up a library of resources on all things astronomical so that information on telescopes, stars, Messier objects etc can easily be found. Have a look at the Information  page for details
