Sometimes when the weather is keich in Tobermory, it is actually OK in Craignure or the Ross. Not this time though!
Saw absolutely no Leonids, despite getting up several times during the night to look.
Regarding the penumbral eclipse, I could see the moon OK, now and again, but a P.E. is sucha subtle thing that it needs really good clear conditions to see it.
Never mind, Geminids in December!
By the way, Venus is in crescent phase right now and REALLY bright in the sky before dawn. So if you've got a 'scope or good binos, (and cant sleep) give it a go - it's great!
